Nursing Professional and Clinical Leader Naomi Rent
Naomi Rent, a medical expert, implemented process improvements that reduced first-case operating room delays from 60 to 30 percent while she was a Boston Children’s Hospital clinical coordinator. As a result, the hospital enjoyed various significant achievements throughout her 12-year tenure, including the facility’s first-ever fetal intervention procedure. In addition, Naomi Rent filled several additional roles during her time with the hospital, including charge nurse, staff nurse II, transplant nurse, and simulation facilitator.
Before joining the children’s hospital in 2011, Naomi Rent gained experience as a registered nurse at Boston Medical Center. Her responsibilities mainly involved patient care, including overnight care for multiple patients. In addition, she assisted patients with medications, wound care, and post-surgical support, among other duties.
Ms. Rent began pursuing a master’s degree as a nurse practitioner at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in 2022. She holds a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and a bachelor of arts in biology from Eastern Nazarene College. Beyond her nursing work and studies, she enjoys attending Broadway performances and following Boston Celtics basketball.
